They have 3 Tim Hortons shops here. While I've never beeen a big TH fan in the past, I have decided to make my allegiance known now, and to educate my fellow friends about the superior quality of TH over the much more popular DD chain around town. So once in a while, I do my TH visitation.
I did that today. Good food and good prices (compared to DD). However, I figured they can learn a few things from the TH experts in Canada. Well, one big thing... speed. The line up was out the door! Great! But why was it so long? Wait a minute... no, two minutes... three minutes... four... five... Aiyah! It took five minutes to get my order of 10 timbits filled. Five. That's 2 timbits per minute, in the box. At one point, there were three servers hovered over the making of a chicken snack wrap. Good thing we're not in much of a hurry around here!
I recalled the TH Dance in Canada - such grace, speed, and finesse as each server twists and twirls over and around each other, filling their orders... Speed. Moving people along. Speed. "Next please!" Speed. In a hurry.
And so I walked away, my little box of Timbits in hand... a smile on my face and a chuckle in my heart. Okay, perhaps this slower pace of life is not too bad afterall.
